    A journey from Sales to Business innovation and Digital Transformation Coach

    After graduating in Economics in 1989 I joined Donavan Data Systems a Mayfair based marketing data provider to the UK advertising industry.


    I moved back to the North East in to join Apple (North East) to specify and sell a range of pre-press systems to large ad agencies and publishers throughout the North of England.


    Robson Brown Advertising asked me to join their newly formed technology team and I became Head of New Media in 1999 delivering large scale web projects for clients such as Northern Electric, Newcastle Building Society and the Co-Op.


    I co-founded Ridge Media in 2002 a web development agency. Starting as Business Development Director and later becoming the MD, I helped the company win a number of prestigious contracts including: an intranet for the Gherkin, the iconic Swiss Re headquarters; digital marketing projects for Tower 42 and a facilities management intranet for Barclays PLC.


    I set up 8020, as a consultancy and coaching business in 2005. I've been providing business transformation coaching to a range of public and private sector clients throughout the UK ever since.


    I believe that my broad breadth of experience helps me to transform businesses by shaping a training and coaching plan that totally underpinned by the goals of the business and delivered through the implementation of the OKR goal setting framework.


    I'm also an Associate with Auxin Services who provide strategic support to ambitious businesses, helping them
    reach their true potential.


    The Auxin team have worked, both with and for, lots of different companies, ranging in size from Unilever to tech start-ups.

    Some of us have bought and sold businesses whilst others rose to senior positions within blue chip corporations. We all have our own consulting businesses and specialist areas but we come together to bid for larger contracts.


    Recently, we have won contracts to deliver the Generator Digital Scale-up programme and CivTech 2.0 in Edinburgh aimed at driving digital innovation into the public sector. I am also delivering the High Growth programme for the NELEP.


    The consultancy is highly successful and uses a Objectives and Key Results framework (OKR) to help businesses scale-up and reach their potential.


    I am also an Enterprise Advisor working with the Barbara Priestman School in Sunderland.

    Philosophy and Skills

    When undertaking coaching and training projects I'll tell you honestly what I think can be improved and help you implement the changes a program bespoke to your needs. My aim is to establish a close working relationship with clients based on trust.

    I aim to be a catalyst for positive change within the organisations I work with. I adopt a rigorous and structured approach. Everything I do is documented and measured to provide full visibility to everyone I work with. I'm focussed on leaving a positive legacy both operationally and culturally that supports the development of long term client relationships.
